You have been warned.
If you don't think you can handle an abundance of puppy cuteness,
then this post may not be for you.
But let's be realistic here....
Are there actually people in existence
who don't melt like butter at the sight of a puppy?
That's what I thought!
The black dog is our neighbor dog, Mia
Mia was actually Maggie's mama.
These pictures are extra precious because of that fact.
Daddy is already Bela's favorite...
She obviously must know that he plans to hunt with her.
Otherwise I would for sure be the favorite... :)
Little Bela joined our family on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the
ripe age of 7 weeks.
Weighing in at 9.8 lbs, this little pup has plenty of energy...
but she also tuckers out pretty easily...
She is still just a baby after all.
Where did her name come from?
It just so happens that my dad's favorite store is Cabela's.
Soooo....I guess Bela is short for that.
(I remind my parents every chance I get how "hick"-ish that makes us sound!!)
People who are close to me (and even those not that close to me),
know that I have a huge place in my heart for dogs.
Saying goodbye to our yellow lab, Maggie back in April was one of the toughest
things I have ever endured.
It might sound silly to be so heartbroken by the loss of an animal.
However, I think John Grogan, the author of Marley and Me, put it best:
"Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day. It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even much closer we become with each other because of them."
I can't imagine living life without a dog,
and thank heavens for Bela,
because now I don't have to.
This little bundle of joy is only going to make
leaving for Illinois next month that much more difficult.
